Amaravati, Oct 8 (IANS) A blast happened in the vicinity of a police headquarters in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor region on Saturday, police said.

The blast occurred when some hazardous material put away in Gangadhara Nellore police headquarters premises went off in the early hours of the day. A police officer supported minor wounds.

The touchy material was held onto in 2018 when it was by and large unlawfully moved by quarry administrators in the area. The equivalent was covered at the back side of the police headquarters building.

As per police, the held onto material abruptly went off early Saturday morning. The boisterous blast and fire made alarm nearby.

A vehicle and a few bikes held onto in different cases were destroyed in the fire. Entryways and windows of the police headquarters building and it were additionally harmed in the episode to border houses.

Since there was nobody around the capacity site at the hour of the blast, there was no death toll. One of the police officers present in the police headquarters got minor wounds.

Senior police authorities visited the police headquarters. An official said that a test has been requested into the reason for the impact.
