Brian O’Donovan who died at the age of 66 on Friday, October 6, 2023, as a result of glioblastoma which is an aggressive type of brain cancer was a host of GBH’s radio show A Celtic Sojourn and enjoyed a notable career in professional sports by working for the New England Patriots and the New England Revolution.

Brian O’Donovan was known for his popular productions of “A Christmas Celtic Sojourn,” an annual event that included live music, dancing, and storytelling, during which O’Donovan shared with the audience the Christmases of his childhood in Ireland.

Brian O’Donovan had four children with his wife Lindsay O’Donovan and they are Aoife, Ciaran, Aidan, and Nuala O’Donovan. Much is not known about the children but it seems they are also in love with music.

Brian O’Donovan married his wife 42 years ago and the couple are said to have met at a live Irish music session at a Brookline pub. They also have two grandchildren who are Ivy Jo Jacobsen and Nomi Francis O’Donovan.
