Christopher Fitzgerald (1991 to February 18, 2023) was a 31-year-old Temple University Police Officer who died on February 18, 2023, after suffering a gunshot wound. According to sources, Chris was trying to stop a robbery at the University campus when the 18-year-old suspect Miles Pfeffer shot him.

Reportedly Miles fired Fitzgerald multiple times on the head and later tried to steal his service revolver.

According to Philadelphia police, Officer Fitzgerald tried to intervene in a Carjacking near campus when he encountered Pfeffer. The teenager allegedly shot the cop, then attempted to rob him of his gun and went through his pockets; this was the first incident in the history of Temple University where a Policeman lost his life on duty.

Soon Philadelphia Police Department was contacted, and the search for the suspect began. We’re told that US Marshals surrounded the bucks county home of Miles and took him into custody without incident.

The unit that arrested Pfeffer revealed that they were able to track down the young guy with the help of surveillance cameras. It also came to light that several weapons were recovered from the home of Miles besides the burnt gun he used to kill Fitzgerald.

Governor Josh Shapiro ordered flags to fly at half-staff throughout the state in honor of Fitzgerald until sunset on the day of his funeral.
