Deborah Barak, one of the most well-known, respected, and adored TV industry executives of the past three decades, passed away today, January 21, following a protracted battle with cancer. She had reached the age of 65.

After leaving CBS at the end of 2020, Barak passed away barely two years later. She developed transaction templates and presented business models that have now become industry standards during her 35 years at the company, where she eventually rose to the position of President of Business Operations. Barak, often known as Debby, spearheaded the most high-profile negotiations for the network and studio. A talented negotiator, she was well-respected by her peers.
