Dusty Rhodes was a wealthy American wrestler with a net worth of $3 million dollars. Dusty Rhodes, also known as Virgil Riley Runnels, Jr., was born in Austin, Texas, and began his wrestling career in the late 1960s as a “heel” with the American Wrestling Association. He eventually moved on to World Championship Wrestling and won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship three times.

He shifted his focus to booking for Jim Crockett Productions and the WCW in the mid-1980s and is credited with increasing the popularity of pay-per-view matches through many of the marketing campaigns he created. He was fired from WCW in 1989 and soon after began working as a wrestler for the WWF.

He then returned to the WCW and ECW in the mid-1990s and wrestled for many years, though his schedule became much less full in recent years. In 2007, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Dusty Rhodes died tragically on June 11, 2015, at the age of 69.
