This year’s edition of the FIFA World cup will be hosted in Qatar – a Country in the Middle East. It will be the first tournament hosted in the Middle East and the first to be held at the end of the calendar year in November and December.

It will also be the first World Cup ever to be held in the Arab world, and the second World Cup held entirely in Asia after the 2002 tournament was held in South Korea and Japan.

The tournament is to be hosted in eight stadiums across five cities in the host nation Qatar namely Lusall, Al Khor, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, and Doha.

The tournament involves 32 FIFA member teams, and it will be the last time the tournament will involve such a number as additional 16 FIFA member teams will be added to the next tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada in 2026.
