On May 24, 1986, Gian Karle Cruz aka Gian Karle (age 36) was born to his mother in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His biological father was not there to support him, and his mom was adopted by a generous family when she was pregnant with Gian.

Karle’s grandparents were very supportive of him, and because of them, he got to live close to a beach in Isla Verde. Although there was no need for little Gian to get a job, he started working at a beach resort at 13. Cleaning lounge chairs was his duty, and he did that for 5 years. At 18, he got the job of beach manager at the same resort.

Traveling the World

With the job of beach manager, the Puerto Rican tattoo artist Gian was earning sufficient to live a life with financial stability. But he wanted to do something exciting because he did not want to work 12 hours a day under the sun. Luckily in 2007, he met two photographers named Shelby and Mike. The job of these two guys was to take pictures of the world’s most beautiful hotels.

Gian wanted to do the same job and asked them if he could work as their assistant. Mike and Shelby recruited Karle as their assistant; from there, the new chapter of Gian’s life began. He traveled around the world, stayed in the world’s best hotels, and ate expensive food, but the best part was that everything was paid for.

In 2009, tattooing captured Karle’s attention. He visited the Puerto Rican convention and bought tattoo equipment because now he wanted to become a tattoo artist. He tried learning the art by practicing but failed, finding an apprenticeship at Angel Villanueva. Four years later, he got to work with fantastic artist Juan “Papito” Lopez. G mastered the art of making neo-traditional tattoos.

Getting Married

When Gian started to grow as an artist, he met his soulmate, Zaimeé Esteves. According to Karle, he met Esteves when she visited his shop to get a tattoo. Long story short, they both fell in love and started going out.

They decided to start their tattoo shop and began visiting different conventions. In 2014 the couple tied the knot on September 23, 2014, in a themed wedding. Currently, the couple lives with their daughter in Concord, New Hampshire, America; here; they have a tattoo shop.
