Lamar Dematrice Jackson Jr. is an American quarterback with the National Football League’s Baltimore (Maryland) Ravens (NFL).

Lamar Jackson was born in Pompano Beach, Florida on January 7, 1997 to Felicia Jones and Lamar Jackson Sr. His father died in a vehicle accident in 2005, leaving his mother to care for him and his siblings.

Jackson went to Santa Luces Community School. He later schooled and played collegiate football at the University of Louisville until his junior year before entering the NFL draught.

The Baltimore Ravens picked Jackson 32nd overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. Jackson has been a pro bowler, first team all-pro, NFL passing touchdown leader, and NFL Most Valuable Player throughout his stint in the NFL.

He also won the Heisman Trophy in 2016, making him the first Louisville Cardinal to do it. During his junior year, he finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting, after Baker Mayfield and Bryce Love.
