The Spartacus star was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma cancer seven months ago.

He began chemotherapy to slow down the spread of cancer but it was in vain. King battled with it for several months before he finally succumbed to it.

King was married to Christelle ‘John’ King before his death. According to sources, the couple had lavishly spent a lot of money to buy themselves a home a few weeks before he was diagnosed with cancer.

Fans and sympathizers are currently raising funds to support his widow.

King was worth $2 million before his death. He was initially cast as extra in the Spartacus series but his presence and stellar performances convinced the producers to expand his role.

One of the main characters in the series Manu Bennett who played Crixus in Spartacus gave a touching tribute when he heard of his passing.
