All About Los Angeles Suspected Serial Killer Jerrid Joseph Powell

Jerrid Joseph Powell (age 33, born in 1990) emerged as the prime suspect in the brutal slayings of three homeless individuals in the heart of Los Angeles. Shockingly, investigators unearthed his involvement while he was already detained for a separate but related fourth murder case.

The convicted felon Powell is accused of callously shooting the defenseless victims as they slept, alongside a non-homeless fourth victim, in what appears to be a botched attempt.

Law enforcement apprehended Powell on Wednesday following a burglary gone awry. It wasn’t until Saturday that authorities successfully linked him to the heinous killings of the homeless individuals.

“Judging by his criminal record, this wasn’t a recent development,” commented LA County Sheriff Robert Luna.

The alleged murderer began his disturbing spree by reportedly killing 37-year-old Jose Bolanos while he was asleep at 3 a.m. on a Sunday—an act of brutality he’s accused of replicating just 24 hours later by fatally shooting Mark Diggs, 62, behind a building, according to police reports.

A third victim, yet to be identified, met their demise around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, mere hours before Powell was apprehended.

His capture was connected to a robbery the previous night, resulting in the death of a 42-year-old Nicholas Simbolon father of two.

Powell allegedly followed Nicholas Simbolon for 12 miles from an electric vehicle charging station to his San Dimas residence, reportedly shooting and robbing him as he exited his car, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement established links between Powell and the various murders through his vehicle, observed at every crime scene where Powell is accused of acting.

Investigators used an automatic license plate reader system to track Powell and arrested him during a traffic stop in Beverly Hills.

Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered a handgun identified as the murder weapon in all four killings, confirmed by the police.

“Had they not possessed those tools, this individual, I’m convinced, would still be moving around the city, in the region, and taking the lives of innocent and defenseless individuals,” expressed LA Police Chief Michael Moore.
