Jordin Sparks was born on December 22, 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona, U.S. She first came to public attention after winning the sixth season of the reality television program American Idol.
She won the the competition at the age of 17, making her the youngest winner in the show’s history. Her self-titled debut album was released in 2007, selling over two million copies worldwide.
The album produced the hit singles “Tattoo” and “No Air”, the latter earning her her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. Her second album Battlefield was released in 2009 and debuted at No. 7 on the US Billboard 200.
