Being a professional boxer is how Clavel stays in shape. She opened up about how she got into the sport to Shape Magazine. "I fell in love with boxing the very first time I tried it," she says. "I took a lesson at a local gym and immediately after, I went to the coach, adamantly demanding him to train me. I told him I wanted to compete and become a champion. I was 15 years old and had just sparred for the first time in my life, so it's no surprise that he didn't take me seriously. He suggested I learn more about the sport for at least a few months before deciding if boxing was for me. But I knew no matter what, I wasn't going to change my mind."

Clavel tells Shape that boxing has made her very adaptable. She says that this came in handy in 2020, when she decided to put her nursing degree to work and help on the COVID frontlines. "If there's anything boxing had taught me, it was to adapt," she says. "Which is exactly what I did. In the ring, when I looked at the stance of my opponent, I knew how to anticipate her next move. I also knew how to stay calm in a frantic situation, and fighting the virus was no different."

Being a boxer means having to deal with losses, and Clavel says that she doesn't let those get her down. After a loss to Yesica Nery Plata, Clavel opened up about how she felt to The Montreal Gazette. "I believe in my promotion," she said. "I was ready to fight a girl like Plata. Maybe it wasn't my best night, but it's ok and I have no regrets. I believe this happened to make me stronger and better. I'm healthy. Yes, it's a defeat. Sometimes we put a lot of pressure on (being undefeated). Now I have (a loss). I'll ask myself a lot of questions I wouldn't have asked (had she won). I'll grow from that."

Clavel has to workout consistently for her career. She shares a lot of her favorite workouts on Instagram. Clavel likes to do both cardio and strength training exercises. She shared these photos on Instagram of one of her sessions at the gym. In them, Clavel is seen using a stationary bike and hand weights. She captioned the post, "Starting the week off on the right foot with this morning's workout."

When it comes to fitness, Clavel is all about consistency. She makes sure to get some exercise each day. Even if she's on vacation.
