In an interview with Glamour, Bailey opened up about her approach to social media. She says that she has no time for haters. "You're not going to connect with everything you see on the internet and I feel like, if people don't connect with something, they bash it," she says. "I don't love that about social media. I don't love that people can't be like, this isn't for me."

Bailey wants to tell diverse stories on TV. When Glamour asked her about wanting to play queer characters, Bailey says that she wants to move away from tropes. "We can show queer people without it being a sad queer story," she explains. "They can just be there, doing their thing; it doesn't need to be the plot."

Bailey wants to use her platform to inspire others. After coming out as pansexual, she told ET that she wanted to be a role model for the queer community. "I've said this multiple times, that if you don't feel safe to come out and you're worried, then maybe wait until you are safe and make sure. To people who are dealing with and are struggling with the backlash and the hatred towards it, you have a community that loves you. Social media is a great outlet. Bailey is open with her fans about what she has been through. She opened up about being diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. She explained her reasonings for this to ET. "I feel like it's such a huge part of who I am and I really do want people to be able to get to know me. I'm not shy. I thrive in transparency."

Bailey is sure of herself. She talked about it in the caption of this Instagram post. "Everyone that I want to like me does. The energy that is meant for me will always inherently belong to me and will flow easily and naturally into my life. You cannot please everyone and the only person you HAVE to live with is yourself. So make it special."
