A St. Louis-region teen is being recognized as a functioning young fellow with a brilliant character after he was struck and killed by an Amtrak train over the course of the end of the week.

Police said Caleb Balaban, 17, of St. Clair, Mo., died Sunday following a mishap in Castlewood State Park, as per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and CBS associate KMOV.

Answering a call Sunday evening about a railroad mishap, officials from West Province Region found the casualty lying on the ground and articulated him dead at the scene, NBC member KSDK detailed. An Amtrak representative said the casualty was intruding at the hour of the mishap, as per KMOV and KSDK.

None of the 123 travelers on the train from Chicago to Kansas City were harmed, the power source announced.

Caleb’s cousin Evnika Oleynik said in the depiction of a GoFundMe crusade for Caleb’s family that the young fellow “had extraordinary desires for his life.”
