Patricia Richardson is an American actress. Her Hollywood career began in the late 1970s, debuting in an episode of The Doctors. In the 1980s, her first notable role was as Beth McConnell in Double Trouble. She later joined the main cast of Eisenhower and Lutz. After this, she starred as Lee-Ann Plunkett in the short-lived show FM. It was, however, her role as Jill Taylor in the sitcom Home Improvement (1991–1999) that garnered her mainstream prominence. For her performance, she also received Primetime and Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress. In the 2000s, she starred as Dr. Andy Campbell in the medical drama Strong Medicine. She next played Sheila Brooks in The West Wing.
