His mother was a homemaker who has a Scottish background and his father was an insurance salesman born to Italian immigrants.

His brother Patrick attended the New Rochelle High School and after his graduation, enrolled at Yale University.

He fought in the Vietnam war and was a veteran who later became an attorney. At the age of 62, he passed away on October 6, 2002.

Leno was raised in Andover, Massachusetts, and attended Andover High School. After he graduated from high school, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in speech therapy from Emerson College.
