A former fighter for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the Light Heavyweight division, he is presently signed with Bellator MMA. After a successful stint in amateur wrestling that included two state championships and a fourth rank in wrestling nationwide while in high school, and three Pac-10 Conference Championships during college he entered the mixed martial arts scene. His accomplishments with UFC include winning The Ultimate Fighter 8 Light Heavyweight Tournament in 2008 and earning the ‘Submission of the Night’ and ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus awards in 2013 and 2016 respectively. His all-inclusive record with UFC in the Light Heavyweight division is 15-5. He signed with Bellator MMA in 2017 and the same year in June he beat Phil Davis via split decision to bag the Bellator Light Heavyweight Championship.
