Advanced SearchShoshannah Stern is an American actor, best known for her performances in the TV drama 'Jericho' and the self-written dramedy 'This Close.' She was raised in a deaf family and is herself deaf. The American Sign Language is thus her first language. However, she can read lips and speak English without any help from an interpreter. Stern has always been passionate about acting. When she was cast for a brief role in 'The WB' comedy 'Off Centre,' she was still in college. Stern later dropped out of college to make a full-time career as an actor. However, she later resumed studies and graduated with a degree in English after the series 'Threat Matrix' ended. She had a prominent role in the series. Apart from films and TV, Stern also has some stage credits to her name. She has also worked with the acclaimed 'Deaf West Theatre' company. Being the only deaf actor to have appeared in two prime-time TV shows simultaneously, she is an inspiration not only to deaf people but to all differently abled people who aspire to make a career in the entertainment industry.
