Stills has been married three times. He met his first wife, who is a French singer-songwriter name Véronique Sanson during a Manassas tour in France. They got married on March 14, 1973. They divorced in 1979.

In 1988, he married American model Pamela Ann Jordan, with whom he had a daughter, Eleanor. His third wife is Kristen Hathaway, whom he married on May 27, 1996.
