David Montgomery is an American football running back for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL).

David Montgomery was born on June 7, 1997, in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to being a standout prep dual-threat quarterback, he also worked hard to become an Eagle Scout.

In 2015, he was named both the Division III Ohio Player of the Year, as well as the Southwest District Offensive Player of the Year. Despite his stand-out high school career, he was not widely recruited by many colleges.

He committed to playing college football for the Iowa State Cyclones over offers from Miami University, Ball State University, and the University of Buffalo.

At the end of his true freshman season, he was named to the honorable mention Freshman All-America team by Campus Insiders.
