An accident on the fifth phase of the Visit de Suisse killed 26-year-old Swiss cyclist Gino Mäder, his Bahrain Triumphant group said on Friday.

The race’s authorities announced that north of 200 kilometers into the race, American racer Magnus Sheffield and Mäder crashed brutally. They were diving the Albula Pass towards La Dropkick, where the stage finished.
